Neil's Journey

Created by Carrie 4 years ago

Neil had been battling challenges with his lungs with the diagnosis of Asthma, progressing to end stage COPD.  He received a double lung transplant on Dec 18, 2018.  Over the past 6 months, Neil faced severe chronic lung rejection.  His only hope was a second lung transplant.  Unfortunately, his body was too tired to go on.

Neil and Carrie worked tirelessly to support patients and caregivers.  In addition, lung research was on our list to support in anyway we could. Neil's wife Carrie, joined the UHN Advisory Board to help awareness for Caregivers.

Neil, born in the UK migrated to Canada when he was 5.  He returned to live in Brighton for 30 years and moved backed to Canada 10 years ago.  He leaves behind his wife Carrie, Daughters Zavia, Danielle, Son Ryan, Stepsons; Alex and Spencer.  His Mother Avis, brother Darren.  In addition his beloved pets Alfie and Miss Kitty.  As well a large village of friends.

In his name, Carrie will continue to contribute her time to ensure lung research funding and patients and caregivers get the support they need.
